Hi there!
After 130.000 km my brake disk needs to be changed soon and the wheel hub needs the normal maintenance. I would like to do that with an independant workshop (dealers workshop can be more than expensive) Main problem is when I see the workshop manual some Special tools are needed (LRT-54-0003; LRT-99-003; LRT54-019, LRT-99-503) to put the seals and a arm to put the comparison gauge and most than probably, the independant workshop dont have it. I seen the cost of the tools in the WEB and are over GBP 300 that means a lot of money for somethigh to be use every 40,000 km. ¿Are those tools really necessary or is just to make the work easier? No special tools needed to change brake discs or pads. You just need a DTI gauge to set the bearings in the hub up after but is can be done by feel if you dont have a DTI gauge.
