Mantec spare wheel carrier
During a recent trip to Morocco my scrap iron spare wheel carrier gave up the ghost big time - the top tube completely sheered through. End result was a donation of some scrap metal to an enterprising local Thumbs Up and completing the trip with my spare dumped in the back Mad. Father Christmas, bless his cotton socks, has given me a replacement Mantec version Thumbs Up. Regards fitting, have any of you guys that already have a Mantec carrier used a gasket behind the plate that fits to the door? I know what a state paint work can be in behind chequer plate that has not been fitted with a gasket and wondered if it was worth the effort putting one on the carrier. Cheers guys and hope Father Christmas treats you as well (apparently he has got me some stainless brake hoses and a heated mirror kit too. Don't remember being that good Rolling with laughter ) Tony

We fitted one last weekend to a friends truck. We didn't fit a gasket, but we did run a bead of clear silicone round the edges before final fitment. Hopefully it should stop too much muck and water getting trapped behind there.

Thanks for the reply. Might just go for that instead of a gasket 'cos I just wnat to keep water out.
