I do also think that there are other more subtle reasons why people ask questions rather than search. Firstly you often find many posts on some subjects and they can be contradictory (for example I was looking for information on whether 265/75/16 BFG AT's would fit on boost alloys. At the time the answers were 50:50 yes:no; however since the recent thread here on this very subject there is little doubt that this is a valid combo).

Also I do think that sometimes we just like to discuss stuff and a question that could have been searched throws up new answers and can go in different directions.
