Someone else was asking the exact-same question here https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic93933.html.
Try my suggestion about the hazard light switch. The contacts in them can cause problems. Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

May be a loose connection in the relay socket.
Check that the relay is seating tightly in its socket. You should have some resistance when you remove and insert the relay. Also look for corrosion in the relay socket. |

Nosnibod - just went and tried that, doesn’t appear to be the hazard switch. Thanks for suggestion tho, let me know if you can think of anything else.
Balvaig - that’s what I thought it’d be as well. Connection seems good and clean. |

If the relay is buzzing then that means that the switch side isn’t receiving enough volts/amps, so nothing on the circuit it’s controlling (I.e. the indicators themselves) will alter anything. So, check everything on the path from the battery, to the fuse box, the hazard switch, the indicator switch and the relay, including the earths.
The wiring diagram for a Td5 is available here https://www.lrworkshop.com/wiring-diagram/...tor-hazard - that should help make sense of things. Dave Green Goddess - 1998 Defender 110 300tdi |

It could have a poor negative. And that is an easy thing to check. Find which terminal on relay is neg, and shove a temporary neg in there.
