Only sort of ting would be a LSD (Limited Slip Diff)- this has te same effect as the TC but is all mechanical.

Well I don't know if many of the manual lockers are 'electronic'. Electric, maybe, but not necessarily electronic. So no sensors or chips to break down, just fairly straightforward wiring, which is generally reliable and easy to fix.
