I think it's because the transmission will often disengage on a trailing throttle or as you approach a standstill
Then, if you suddenly apply power, the revs shoot up and initially nothing happens ... |

lt shouldn't have any turbo lag as l think it also has a supercharger.
Mine was sometimes "all or nothing" on initial acceleration when it was new, but it gradually improved with mileage. ... |

l am sure it's genuine, l looked up the dealer and they don't specialise in Land Rovers but have a fair bit of stock.
l'll see if l can organise an inspection, RAC or something like that. |

No, it was owned by a rich guy who kept it at his French Chateau and only used it to take friends to the ski lodge (according to the dealer)
l checked and it hasn't been MOT'd in the UK since 2009
