Got a response from customer Services at ScanGauge. They gave me some X-Gauge codes to try, and happy to report it worked.

I now have the MAF readings on display. Codes as follows :

Thanks all. Ended up taking the easy option of driving to local helpful garage who had the right tools to remove the nut.
