It’s the layshaft in the gearbox. They chatter quite regularly. Apply slight pressure to the gearstick towards a gear position and it should quieten as the slack is taken up. Just the build toleranc ...

I bonded my bracket to the windscreen frame with sikaflex. Stayed on there a few years and was pretty hard to remove when I took the snorkel off.

Shame I didn’t bond it to the wing 🤦‍♂️ ...

The easiest way I found to cure the air locks is to buy the grease cartridges. Much less mess when it’s empty and needs filling again too.
