They can be drilled out.
I lubricate these pins regularly and have heard some who do so get many years out of them.
This remains to be seen.

Denso tape- never heard of it so googled it.
This stuff could work with a few loose cable ties to keep in place till it bonds and drys.
Is it safe to be applied on rubber hoses?
