yeah, small wins,
my guess is that they would have replaced the belt, tensioner, and entire water pump. Then its just labour rate, and £180/hr adds up quickly.

Succesfully completed (after a trip to halfords for a t55 torx fitting to move the tensioner)

£47 oem pulley
£30 torx set
1x scuffed knuckle and broken thumbnail

Yeah its the 2 litre diesel (the 240 is the one before they all became mild hybrids) and so recall isnt for mine

Odd problem, my water pump pulley has shattered! strangely the belt has sufficient tension that i didnt notice and the belt still turns the water pump on the armature without the pulley! No noise ...
