I did consider the inner cv joint but there’s no knocking when pulling away or shifting gear and not sure if the click the same as failed outers?

UJ’s are good, the front one was replaced 12 months ago.

Why is nothing ever a straight forward fix!!

So I’m getting a strange noise from what I’m pretty certain is the drivetrain. The best way to describe it is like a plastic/tinny flapping/ticking ...
