At a guess since its a ring terminal I would go for earth.

Whats the advantage of running this upgraded loom with the tpuk headlights??

As I understand the existing wiring is only just good enough to cope with original headlights . After some time the headlight stalk burns out . The loom takes a direct feed from the battery instead .
The Thomas performance loom is a generic headlight loom so needs modifications to length to work on defender . I ended up throwing it and buying another brand specific for defender |

You may also find that you don't get full charging voltage to your H4 bulbs through the standard wiring. The output from halogen bulbs drops quite dramatically as the voltage reduces so by taking power direct from the alternator to the bulbs you are assured they are as bright as nature intended while at the same time reducing the burden on the light switch. |

Plus for earlier LED headlights the loom prevents them from flickering, JW Speakers were prone to this, as the voltage drops through the main light switch.
