Dust can be manged by choice of storage boxes but you'll definitely want security. There used to be a cage that you buy to fit under the hood so that it looked standard, but they were bloomin' expensive. As suggested above, an Ifor canopy could be a cheap solution if you can find one second hand or failing that, a lid for the tub. Darren

Thanks for the replies and links.
Good boxes and Ifor vs truck man vs load bed cover. An internal cage sounds interesting, but possibly an irritant having something else to open to get to stuff…and sounds expensive. Certainly don’t wish to buy new if I can avoid doing so. Will check eBay. Cheers Robin |

Even in a Station Wagon the dust gets absolutely everywhere, it will be worse if you are in a group, so just put stuff in containers/plastic boxes.
Just a wild thought… To secure some stuff in a way that it’s still accessible could you put 2 or more full length drawer units in the back stacked so that when the tailgate is closed and drawers locked anything inside will be pretty hard to get to. You then have the space on the wheel boxes where you could put some top loading lockable storeage boxes. For more stuff. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

Dust will get everywhere, regardless, so sealed boxes is a great help (I’m still finding pink dust in the rangie from a trip in 2006!). Regarding security with a soft top, a stout lockable box bolted down to the bed can give peace of mind. I’m intending to use a “Van Guardian” motion/vibration sensing anti-tamper alarm on the tailgate for the 130 for when it’s parked and loaded away from home. 2011MY 130 HCPU: daily driver
