[Wanted] Looking for a Roof Tent

Haven't seen a roof tent up in a while, but thought id pop a wanted ad up to see if anyone has one for sale, or one maybe coming up?

Was looking at Soft Shells with Annex, but would be open to Hard Shell dependant on price.

Its top end of the budget, and i think i would prefer a soft shell, as they seem a little more roomy, and less roomy when being stored.

Open to being educated on this though?

There are pros and cons to each. For me the main advantage of the clamshell is ease and speed of use. They go up and down in seconds, while canvas ones require crawling around the roof (hope you've got an external cage or decent roof rack).

Clamshells are also more robust I think in bad weather.

Some canvas roof tents have a covered entrance which is an advantage in wetter weather.

Really it's up to you, what's important, and your budget.

Ive been sleeping in my soft shell this week with the nice weather. The hard shell is getting an airing as well however ready for the kids to occupy it this weekend

Horses for courses really, the soft shell is cheap, light and feels more like a tent, . The hard shell is the opposite of the above.

I think for a first foray into it, maybe better to start cheaper and work up from there.

See how the other half likes it before shelling out on more expensive kit?

Ive found a Tuff Trek TT-03 for reasonable money. Anyone any experience of these?

tuff trek are pretty good. Gordigear, ARB, Tuff Trek (less their africa series) and I think Front Runner all come from the same chinese factory

i have a tt02 ruggedized on my 110 and a howling moon on my trailer 110 Defender 300tdi & Penman trailer with ally exped top and roof tent
