I think you'd have to take the actuator assembly off, probably 2-3 bolts and swing it out of the way. Should expose the oil feed pipe.
Very envious of the VVT... I hope it delivers the buttery smooth boost as it does when I am dreaming of one on Miffy ![]() |

Had a chat with dave at Bell Auto Services and yup for the mileage he recommended not tweaking it at all The TD5 has a BAS remap already from when i put in the Allisport intercooler with the now defunct turbo Effie, my other td5 has an allisport air filter ( the new large one) and a griffin big bore exhaust. Real soon now an allisport radiator/ intercooler is arricvng for her. Next step there are Koni shocks and uprated springs ( already got vented/drilled disks) so last thing going on her will be a VVT Rgds Alex Santa - 1977 Series 3 - new chassis, tub, disc brakes,SU Carb Gertie - 1999 110 TD5 - like a Phoenix from the ashes back on road... almost Effie - 2004 110 TD5 County |

So,
a few things to note 1). to torque up the oil feed into the turbo, you need to remove the centrifugal oil filter housing 2). connecting up the oil drain tube to the turbo is a major pain when its installed. Its better to do this with the turbo not installed, but to do that you have to remove drain tube from the block ...... to do that you have to remove the oil cooler so you can get enough purchase to unscrew the tube. However an easy solutiin is to use a long (50-/600 M6 bolt to line up the oil drain tube with the turbo .. then put in the correct short screw aty the other end .... then removbe long scrfew and replace with correct one. its all in, just have to drop the sump and clean that out in case there are lumpy bits in there. ok so about to drop sump to check theres no extra crud in there.
Have noticed other posts about a bolt (?) that youre recommended to loctite (?) in place if youre ever removing the sump. To do with sudden catastrophic oil pressure failure i think can anyone enlighten me as to what and where it is ?
