Do you have photos?
Something is odd or its not the original rear lock, my 2007 uses the ignition key for the rear door. HTH Keith |

Thanks for the reply Keith. I think it’s not the original lock, as the lock is clearly too small for the hole on the outer of the door.

There should be a plastic finisher or escutcheon on the outer panel.
If you replace the rear lock, I've not long done mine, used a Britpart one and the quality isn't great.... The small key certainly doesn't look right for your age of car. Good luck |

Thanks for the help. For anyone else with the same query, the shorter barrels are from older models (pre 2002 I think?) and therefore the previous owner had stitched me up. A new rear lock is £30 from bearmach and it takes the longer barrels so that’s the solution! Part number LR031336.
