There are a few single DIN with everything you want (except carplay) - the JVC KD-X56XXX series are priced between £140-£200 and look OK to me.
Carplay is the issue - there are a few "Halo" systems (single din chassis, wth a fixed double-din floating screen), but as far as I'm aware there aren't many true single din (or motorised) options: the only one I can think of is the pioneer one: https://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m...-41153.htm Halo ones would block the clock and hazard switch on a Puma. I'm in exactly the same boat and coming to the conclusion that you can pick up a carplay doble din and a double din facia panel for a similar price to the above one from pioneer. I also have the JVC and so far it has been brilliant.

I'm look at this unit for a motorhome I have, but would work in the Defender also Sony XAV-AX8050D, I think it ticks all your options, it is not a motorised screen, its fixed but you can put it in many different positions.

I just bought my replacement 110 and it came with the Pioneer unit mentioned above and I'm really quite chuffed with it. I didn't realise it had a DAB unit in it until I picked it up so had been considering splashing out £400 on a Blaupunkt Bremen and £150 or so on a sat nav unit. Given this one also has carplay I don't need the satnav now either so a big thumbs up for this one even though it is a bit pricey.

Cheers for the info. That pioneer looks the dogs. But pricey. The JVC is very popular and is a good price but looses CarPlay. Might have to get over that. Need some funds to sort an amp and some speakers.

I’ve got the pioneer with factory sub and focal speaker upgrade. Honestly no need for a separate amp more sound than I know what to do with. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews

I don’t have the premium package for sound so no sub. Was thinking of the focal es100k speakers and tweeters and the ibus 20 sub.
That pioneer looks the bomb. How do you find it affects your switches? I suppose the screen away button sorts that? |

Mine didn’t come with the sub - got one off eBay as there was already the plug under the cubby to go to the head unit pre wired for it. Just needed a live taking off the battery and job done.
Only switch I have a problem with is hazard light but if I ever need it it’s just a press of the button to flip the screen down and out of the way. Benefits far outweigh any downsides. Best thing about one with CarPlay is that the software is on the phone so unless there’s some huge fundamental change in how it works, it will be as up to date as your phone is. https://instagram.com/bentheoandrews |
