Question remains where will these panels come from ~ donor vehicles like the Works V8 would seem an expensive way to go, but maybe factored into the £200k asking price?
Edit: This article seems to suggest the answer: "what with SVO having granted Bowler permission to remake the 110 body for its latest project." https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britis...wler/43321 |

The boss of SVO also appears to be well off message on the old Defender: "Van der Sande...argued that “there’s a huge market for those who like the original shape” that is purely driven by “customer demand”."
Although his point is somewhat undermined when you learn Bowler are planning for an annual output of 12 vehicles. ![]() |

Surely as far as we're concerned, and indeed Ineos Grenadier would be concerned, that's very much 'on message'

I guess if its only one a month the panels can be had cut and shaped manually - what happened to the original tooling/jigs that was used make the original Defender panels? Did it find its way to India (as rumoured)? Can't believe JLR would have left it in any kind of usable state at Solihull... Steve N | 21MY Defender ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think someone who works for the company has posted on here that the old Defender specific tooling was all scrapped.

Odd to see Bowler tweeting this out with the hashtag "defender2020" ~ is there a resistance cell working within JLR

They are trying very hard to stress how independent Bowler are of JLR - yet the article is based on an interview with a JLR boss and the bloke who sits in the boss seat at Bowler was parachuted in from JLR and has no engineering or rally raid experience...

Be interesting to see what they go for as they are being offered without reserve.
