Gearbox Oil - Difflock Evolution?
Is the upgraded gearbox oil worth it??

The box on my TD5 gets quite noisy and 'chattery' when hot and once or twice after a long run it didn't let me change 1st to 2nd without a fight, so I'm wondering if an upgrade to this stuff (or Ashcrofts version) is worth it?

Mine's done a few miles but supposedly had an Ashcrofts recon box at some point so shouldn't need changing yet hopefully.

Any thoughts? Andy

Difflock Evolution 1 is, I believe, Fuchs Titan Sintofluid SAW 75W-80
Difflock Evo 2 is, I believe, Fuchs Titan Sintopoid SAE 75W-90

Both available with forum/members discount from Opie Oils.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Difflock 1 is a good oil but expensive for what it is.

Sintofluid as mentioned above is suitable at about half the price (different colour than Difflock?), Morris Oils also make an oil that is recommended for Defender box - Lodexol http://www.morrislubricantsonline.co.uk/sc...product=67

What you are looking for is a GL4 Fully Synth Oil 75w 80 (MTF).

are any of these oils good for a Puma ?
I've just changed mine for the recommended Castrol SMXS and, alarmed by the amount of metal particles in a relatively new 'box I wonder if they're a bit fragile and would benefit from a 'super oil' ( or additive) Question

What is the point of a Forum if you can not talk about your experiences within the topic????

Can you please explain in public.
