yes, it's all computer-controlled.

It’s always great to see RRS doing these offroad tacks because so many people just write them off As footballers specials incapable of doing what Land Rovers were designed to do. So few owners even try to go down a dirty track with one they really don’t know what they are missing - both L320 and L494 are hugely capable and hugely underrated off road and you can pick a decent condition 10 -15 year old one for less than the cost of a similar age Puma Defender Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

I think it depends on the Country and local mindset Tim, down under there are quite a few RRS and D3/4 drivers that were/are members of their local LR owners clubs, these organisations regularly arrange weekend treks, off road and recovery training in some spectacular scenery. Getting off the beaten track in your 4x4 is a more common and accessible to the majority of 4x4 owners in Australia than in the UK, and all usually within a hour or so of major capital cities yet another pommie bar steward down under MY20 110 P400 SE Defender MY10 3.0 RR Sport |

The black 2010 RRS S/C wheel design look great on the white car not sure that it would work on other colours though and I like the black A pillar change too.
Wondering how mine would look with gloss black wrap on the Signature whiteboard (Green boards in my case) and A pillar, looks like I might have to have I go with the iPad photo editor or pay a visit to the local wrapping company! Thanks, that's interesting to watch. I can't see any advantages to that system over a simple locking diff and it seems slow in implementing. The iGuide for the new Defender talks about the screen displaying the amount of traction being lost through wheel spin as either low, medium or high. Seems odd as I would have thought that's exactly what the system is trying to avoid? Click image to enlarge |

Can someone help me out. On the D4, the diffs are either locked or unlocked.
Does the new defender have a true diff-lock, or is it done via the braking??? This is what some of the info to date suggests.... Cheers Lucas |

No, the D4 uses the same variable-locking centre and rear diffs as on the RR/S. "Does the new defender have a true diff-lock, or is it done via the braking??? This is what some of the info to date suggests...." You can order it with the active rear diff, but Traction Control is standard. In situations where the computer thinks that traction will be lost/is being lost, it will variably lock the centre and/or rear diffs until traction is re-/gained. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I'm thinking that if you go for the optional Terrain Response system that is configurable, then you have the option to create up to 4 bespoke programmes and part of that configurability is the differentials.
Page 38 of the brochure: Click image to enlarge Of course, JLR don't make it easy to understand that "locked" does not necessarily mean "100% locked"! |

Hi
Been lurking and have a question. Can you place a deposit for a 90 to secure a build slot and then decide on final spec later on? |
