Hi All,

Can anyone help identify what might be causing this leak, as shown in the picture?

It’s not coolant and I can’t see anything obvious in the engine bay.

Remember you are responding to a novice!

Thanks

What engine?
Are you talking about this drip?

I would feel it a if it dose it feel oily? Does it smell? If neither I would then taste it. Coolant has a vey particular taste and condensation has no taste.

Yes you have spotted the drip which is coming from the area marked with an arrow.

I put a bucket underneath to collect the water. It looks like plain water - not coolant and has no taste. I did notice that coolant is very low in header tank but I’m not sure this is related. If it was i assume what i collected would be coolant, which its not.

Just makes no sense to me. I have taken it for a drive to see if that did anything and even afterwards it still dripped.

I wish I was mechanically knowledgeable but really appreciate people taking the time to respond. Great website.

Thanks

Are you using your air conditioning whilst driving it?

If yes it will probably condensation on the AC condenser which is mounted with the cooolant rad, which is directly above those drips.

Odd. All I can say to help is, if it was any important fluid, it would taste, smell, or be oil.

Sorry I’m stumped, but will think on, and let you know if any ideas.

Is this on a Tdci?

The only other water in there that I can think of would be from the windscreen washer bottle and pipe work.
