I’m searching for a fold down table for the rear door and came across the front runner one but it’s made specially for jeeps. However, I’ve seen a few people bodge it to fit on the defender door but cannot seem to work out how because of it’s length, it would seem to be too long to fit between the interior door handle and the end of the door.
So...can anyone report on how they got it to fit or are there any recommendations as to alternatives? Click image to enlarge https://www.frontrunneroutfitters.com/en/u...table.html Instagram.com/mattbuckley19 |

Interested in this. I’d love a table like the Frontrunner one that fits properly and neatly on a Puma. All the ones I’ve seen look a bit Heath Robinson in their attachment. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I’ve got the Front Runner table ready to fit to my rear door once I’ve done the restoration.
My rear door has a flat piece of checker plate on with a piece also over the rear wiper. With the table spaced off the door far enough to clear the wiper box it just fits, if I remember right it does cover the door handle very slightly but not enough to cause any problems operating it. If I get a chance tomorrow I’ll take a photo. 1997 Ex-MOD 110, Pop Top Camper, build thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic72352.html 2014 Discovery 4 SE Tech Instagram @the110camper |

Surely must be easy enough to make a nice wooden one yourself?

I’ve got one on my 110 so it does fit but I have a full chequer plate panel and no rear wiper. I mounted it by using longer wheel carrier bolts and drilling straight through the back. This is the only pic I could find, not great but if you zoom in you can just about see it.

As Whirly says, it does physically fit but you’d have to make your own brackets depending on which rear door trim you have fitted.
Few pics from this morning with it set up on some clamps! I’ll need 60mm spacers behind mine so it clears the wiper box. I use a drop down shelf from MobileStorage Systems (although I can't see it on their site now) attached to a chequer plate door trim from Devon 4x4. You can see it in the attached photo. The interior doesn't look like this now, but the shelf has served me well for many years. The one from MSS that, I believe, ak615 was referring to is actually their cooker housing for mounting a gas cooker on the back door - not ideal as a simple table.

I got one of these on ebay recently at a lot cheaper than the new price. I think it's meant to give the option of a small table - but it's an either/or thing - you can't have both at the same time. The table folds down first, with the stove still folded up against the door. Then you can bring the stove down if you want, but at that stage it takes up the same space. I'm assuming this is how it's designed to work, but when I got it, the table and stove had been fixed together which just didn't seem to make sense, so some fettling managed to separate them. This stove/table combo needs four bolts attached to the back door cover that it can then slot/hang onto. Reading this thread made me realise I could probably make up something else like the front runner one to attach to those same bolts first and then to unfold to the side, or even rustle up a slide-out board that would attach to the bottom of the stove itself.
