I've signed up to that more than once and so far as I'm concerned it doesn't hold much weight.
Just the other day I had some muppets with very English names from the other side of the world telling me I was heading to jail for defrauding HMRC deliberately for the last several years. Lets just say I wasn't in a rush and managed to entertain myself for almost 15 minutes starting with me having to tell them my name (Mr Michael Smallmouse), they went away and confirmed my name was correct and the allegation was indeed against my good self. They suggested a small payment of £1987 could be made to avoid court proceedings. blithering fools. |

I’ve been registered numerous times with TPS for land line and mobile and while they often work fine for UK based scammers the system doesn’t work for those based outside the UK and using digital screening to make it look like the originator is in the UK.
In late August I travelled through Brussels airport where my mobile number must have been scanned as all through September I had calls every 15-20 minutes from numerous African countries, Thailand, Cambodia, even blocking them didn’t reduce the calls as they just used different ones. In the end I switch off my mobile for a week and since then only one spam call that the number indicated might be from Turkey, but that is an inconvenient way to deal with the problem. I suspect the problem was caused because normally I switch off the Bluetooth but forgot to do that on that journey...... Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

We noticed a sharp stop in been pestered on a night now, in fact i think its been well over 5 years easy since we were last pestered. But what i have stopped doing now, is not putting in land lines/ mobiles for insurance quotes and CVs. If you every decide to put a CV in for a job, make sure you set up a seprate Email address and maybe a cheap mobile pay as you go thing too. I was harassed with cold calls to the point i nearly deafed one of them at work! Again i signed my mobile up to this service and it all stopped. So you just have to watch where you are putting your details in. Also beware that some of the jobs on the job site dont even exist!
