No replacing the chassis on that when the rot sets in.

Modern cars don’t rot, it’s depreciation vs cost of repairs and maintainence that is the killer .

Thinking about it, it would be great if Land Rover offered a body, suspension and interior option only. Then we could fit a 2.8 TGV or LS..... Very Happy

Some cracking photos in that set, got to be said. Good find.

Interesting how the air intake runs. How on earth they get safe depth to 900mm depth is beyond me...

I thought the same. Presumably lifting it's suspension helps the wading depth.

define "modern".

Disco3, Disco4 and L322 inner and outer sills are starting to become a "thing" at MOT time.

Possibly a dumb question:
The early pictures have no doors in place and no door pillar for the 2nd row door to hinge from. Maybe it's added later, but why does the rubber seal go all the way round the opening?

Hmm, look what happens to Defender aluminium alloy wherever it touches steel, and look forward to differential metal corrosion on a grand scale.

I'm sure it won't happen, at least not in the warranty period. Very Happy

A look at a pre 2010 Jag XK/XK-R will show how modern ali cars still corrode. Same goes for the previous model XJ.

While paint processes were changed for 2010, I hear some later cars are starting to show the same issues as time passes. I got rid of my 2011 XK-R a couple of years back and there were a couple of questionable spots that I didn't look too closely at as I took the cheque from the buyer Whistle
