That new defender had covered 70,000 miles trouble free, they were heading to scotland and were testing kit in the vehicle for self driving and parking.
Its nothing like the defenders we all have but gotta say to all the doubters its pretty impressive from what i seen today, its really well disguised, Its like a disco 3/4 but more modern inside like disco 5 huge screen in centre, not sure wether you can makeitout in pic but there seems to be a line of rivet like fittings along sides where on a current defender pick up would have the hook like things. September is the date for uncover i was told. If you look at doors you can see heavily covered up, had duck tape all over it keeping bits on covering the real thing |

It will be good to get the hype out of the way and actually get to see it, sit in it, drive it. Yes it’s going to be like marmite but then that’s no different to current defenders is it. 2015 HT XS 90

Bench seats in the back... thought they were banned by some European regulation?

A forward facing bench would be legal.

I think JLR employ more marketing folk than engineers/designers, so the teasers continue. They wont want to loose too many sales to LRD5, RRS etc, so interesting to see final product.
A tougher, boxier version of the LRDS is my expectation. Hopefully with minimal electronics and fixed springs. Still predict the diehards will hate it, but for me it will be great. Looking forward to it. |

Just to clarify the bench seat is proper what I saw looks like the finished job it wasn’t a side facing seat but a proper forward facing seat

Everything inside was a finished item from what I saw only the dash board had covers on them the inside of doors looked great but they had covers over covering bits of the door card
