Hi everyone,
yet another issue cropped up on my Puma, only noticeable at highway speeds (>80kmh): when I brake, the car dives to the left. Even if I hold the steering wheel straight, the car still does this. What could be causing this? thanks, it's going back to the shop on Thursday.
added to this is a rattling clutch. if it needs to be replaced, this will be the 4th time since 2010. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I have had a similar effect when the brake hose on the opposite side (the side it doesn't pull towards) has collapsed internally, but this is rare. As noted above, it is most likely that the caliper on the opposite side has seized.
Another possibility is that the pads on the side it pulls towards have worn to bare metal, but the noise would probably alert you to this. |

I had this and it turned out to be a rear calliper with a sticking piston Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond.....

Just replaced my calipers pistons for stainless because of this problem.
These were the back ones once I managed to get the pistons to come out! Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |

Roy - yours look pretty much same as my rear ones when they came off. Cheers

Fronts weren’t too bad. The pistons were still corroded though which is not ideal for their correct functioning.

the clutch is also rattling now, what's the latest news on that front?
it's been replaced about 4 times with the LR one since 2010, so maybe it's time for an aftermarket HD one? -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |

I swapped mine out with a new upgraded option from Luke at LOF. Complete kit including all the other bits required was around the £350 mark. I fitted myself so labour cost wasn’t an issue. 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html

My first guess will be the front brakes too, but also check your bushes front and rear. Roel
