in terms or removal and replacing, theres not much to it. remove the pads, clamp the flexi, remove brake pipe, remove the 2 13mm bolts and replace... bleed them through, job done. I Bled the entire system when I did it just because I wanted to flush the fluid through. I didnt do an ABS bleed though, my diagnostic thing doesnt have that function.
for the calipers, I used SEB500460 SEB500470 if you go onto something like LR direct you can then choose the brands. they do **itpart from about £30 up to AP calipers for about £70 |

Thank you for your reply, I have another question which you may be able to help with; there is a reference to a number ie HA123456 when you go to the lr direct site. Is this part of the vin number?
Mine starts with AA which to my mind is a number before HA so how can you be sure to get the correct part? Hope I’ve explained myself? |

not sure where you are seeing that ref. https://www.lrdirect.com/SEB500460-supplie...ed-AP.html
the vented calipers have been the same for 1994 onwards. only choice you have is whether to go with OEM or britpart etc |

The number on the vin I’m referring to is the 10 th digit onwards mine is AA******. When I did my search for callipers on the lrdirect site it references an HA****** number which I assumed was part of the vin. Hard to explain I know but the link you have given me was what I require. Thanks to all who replied. By the way did you see the price of the Land Rover branded callipers.......it beggars belief!😳 |

I’m thinking it may be wise to also change the flexi brake pipes when doing the calipers, anything untoward I should be looking for when doing these?
Also when ordering the calipers, do they come with the pins and the springs etc or do you order them separately? Re the bolts that hold the calipers on......has anyone got a part number and also have they to be loctited when refitting, if so what kind should I use? Sorry for all the questions but I need to make sure I have all the bits and bobs to do the job. Stop Press: I’ve found the bolts and they already come with red loctite or similar on them. SYP500090 is the part number for Rimmer Bros. |
