I can only think some of the multiple bearings or shims failed. But then it would whine and leak I reckon.

Did you inspect the magnetic drain plug? Puma 110" SW

No, if the vibration is there with both propshafts removed it confirms that it is something that is rotating with both propshafts removed, ie engine, gearbox, or transfer box.

What about in neutral on the t-box but in gear in the main box, does it still vibrate then? If not, what about in low box?

Sorry I misread your previous message, I agree it’s clearly not related to props or front and rear diffs .

Just tried what you suggested.

In gear with hi/low in neutral there’s no vibration .

In gear but in low range there’s also no vibration

Update on progress.
I spoke with Ashcroft transmissions with regards to a new transfer box and left the conversation considerably worse off financially !
I've opted for the ATB centre , sleeved casing and their upgraded Output shaft for the MT82 . Frustratingly there's a 7 day backlog on builds, a testament to their success and popularity I suppose , so having to use the wives Disco 4 for now !

Worryingly though , I was asked for the serial number of my existing box which is suffix 43G and is apparently a TD5 box, so must have been done prior to my ownership . I'm hoping it's just the casing and has the 1:2 ratio and not the 1:4 as they will give me £100 less on return, not sure why really. They're all the same price on the site. Perhaps it's stock related.

Anyhow excited to get it back on the road. Also ordered new callipers , braided hoses and it's having a full waxoyl during the downtime. https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/

It's very doubtful that it is a 1.4 ratio box, that would be unbelievably low geared and I am sure you would have noticed.

Finally I got a call to say that my Land Rover was ready , three weeks to change an output shaft, transfer box (two weeks to arrive from Ashcroft) 1 week to fit , Wax oil and various other jobs .
I would have attempted to do it myself but didn’t fancy removing a transfer box lying on my back !

The result is a hugely improved drivetrain , absolutely zero slack through out . I took it for a spin around a wet field this afternoon and the ATB feels very different to the standard Diff, a lot more positive .

Sadly though my vibrations from 1st - 6th and 0mph - 60mph are still there and if anything worse than before . You can feel it through the seat , floor , doors and gear stick , worse under load but always present .
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement!

So engine or gearbox it is .

When I was having similar problems with mine, my brother in law took it out for a spin and he could barely notice it, so it can be easy to over analyse things like this.

Which prop is it bad with?

Swap prop to the other would be my start. I doubt it will be mounts as if things are running smooth they aren’t doing much.

It’s worse with the Gwynn Lewis props on but vibrations still there with the OEM props .
I put that down to the size and weight difference .

To be honest the vibrations feel like something isn’t lined up correctly , hence I thought engine mounts .

I’m seriously out of ideas now ! I don’t know what could even go wrong in a gearbox or engine to simulate these symptoms but I’m pretty sure it would be time consuming and expensive https://www.instagram.com/hustynminepark/
