James did you get this sorted?
My turbo actuator does not move when gears are in neutral and engine is revved. What did you spray into the inlet if anything? |

Having tried the fuel additive route I have some wynns turbo cleaner to add to the air intake. Just not got around to putting it in yet. Vehicle currently laid up. Cheers

Thanks - also ordered the Wynns turbo cleaner - will use it tomorrow and report back on the results. Reviews indicate people have had mixed results.

Finally got round to doing this a few days ago. Too early to say if it has resolved the issue but a couple of shortish trips and has not gone into limp mode yet so fingers crossed. Also I did see the actuator move yippee.

Ok, I put the revive solution through it last Fri. Some muck out the back as it worked through, repeated the conditions, speed, duration, location and it didn't go to limp so fingers crossed, time will tell. Cheers

I have experienced this https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic67122.html
Having scanned the ECU with my BAS tool it returned "P0234-00 ( 28 ) turbo overboost condition" I spoke with Pete Bell whose response was as follows... Sounds like the turbo is sticking slightly with heat after you have been on a run. Or the EGR valve is sticking open and you have not blanked it yet. I’d advise checking the turbo arm is free by disconnecting the actuator arm from the turbo - I made a video a while back as this is a common problem As seen in the video even when hot the arm should move very very free with your fingers when disconnected from the actuator. It should have no notchiness etc. You are feeling the turbo variable geometry mechanism. If it’s notchy you may be able to keep moving it back and forth to free it. But as said it will be tighter regardless when hot. If you can’t free it then replace the turbo > 110 XS Double Cab |

Was tempted to try this with the turbo actuator in situ but thought with my luck, if I tried to remove it, that spring link washer thing would fly off never to be found again...
Seeing how easily you removed it , will give it a try. The Wynns turbo cleaners does seem to have helped though. |
