I did this some time ago and it wasn't straight forward if I remember, though I was also updating the dash!
Get a copy of wiring diagram for your vehicle and then for 2002 on one and slowly look at what is different for each function.. Then methodically change as required. If you are not able to cope with this then you will definitely need someone who is. |

It's not at all straightforward as the wiring for the wiper on the later doors works on a completely different principle to the earlier ones. I undertook this exercise a little while ago on a 200tdi 90 and came up with the following though, to convert from old to new:

That’s great. I guess there isn’t an easier way? But with your diagram it should hopefully be easy enough.

I'm afraid not. The original wiring was directly switched with a permanent live to the wiper motor but the later arrangement is a switched earth set-up. The only way to convert it is as I've shown. It did work perfectly, though. Darren

It was supplied by forum member, PaulMc. See here for his details: https://www.defender2.net/forum/member-paulmc.html. It was £9.95, from memory.

That was back in November 2017.
I still have these, and the price is still £9.95, which includes 1st class P&P. Paul. 1989 Arles Blue 2.5TD 110 Hardtop 1999 Epsom Green Discovery II 4.0 V8i 'XS' |

That page was the basis for creating the diagram posted above. Darren
