Thanks for all the comments we're going to change the VCV again before looking at the high pressure pump - we haven't been able to complete a 'pump learn procedure so the problem does seem to be in teat area.....

They'll run ok without a pump relearn, so fit another vcv a give it a go

There is a lot of confusion (deliberately?) with sellers of VCV’s if they are brand new or recon. Never a clear answer hardly but a distinct significant price difference is rather telling. TheThunder Rolls🇬🇧🇺🇸

Buy the valve only original from Denso (part number DCRS300260). With *bay (usually from UK) forgeries are sold at the half price. Ford prescribes the exchange together with the PRV (pressure relief valve). Would follow that recommendation...

Are you sure you haven't got air getting into the fuel lines?
Could be a dodgy fuel filter, loose injector pipes? I had a cheap fuel filter once that restricted fuel flow. It would start fine but once it emptied the can it would cut out. Just a thought ![]() Then: 2004 2.5 TD5 90 Hard Top (X-Tech Edition) |
