George,
A faulty VCV valve shows no fault codes, I had idle issues, especially when cold, so just replaced VCV and had it learned and all resolved Could be something else, though worth looking into. https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30222...t=vcv+idle https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/showt...trol-Valve Cheers Keith MY2011 110 XS USW |

If it rotates but does not start, a faulty crankshaft- or camshaft-sensor (plug, wiring, seat, etc.) may be the reason. Click image to enlarge |

It starts straight away but won’t idle. If you keep revs above 2000 it’s ok but as soon as you take your foot off the excelerator it cuts out. It came on gradually....we’ve checked all the obvious things and replaced lots of parts. It’s stumped 2 defender repair specialist, so it’s got to be something no one thought about....!

sorry Steve,
not sure how that would help? I've disconnected the clutch switch and all it did was over rev / hang when changing gear as it doesn't reduce engine torq on clutch depress. |

ah....
could it be switch is the problem ie the engine is constantly in reduced torq mode ie like having the clutch depressed all the time? in which case simply disconnecting would confirm if that's the problem or not? |

It sounds very VCV-like to me. I'd almost be inclined to try replacing it again.

Blackwolf could well be right, the symptoms are there.
Regarding the clutch switch, no you cannot just disconnect it on a Puma. Either replace the switch and re-connect or bridge it. You cannot just unplug it, it will not run correctly at all like that. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R 🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇺🇸⛽️🛢️⚙️🧰💪 |

Did you get your VCV programmed via the learn process?
