Question for all the bolt-heads out there...
I'm wanting to change the mounting of my catch can. It was bought from Australia and made in USA. Google just confused me more & local hardware stores have no idea... The supplier has not responded after 3 emails over 6 weeks, but eventually the manufacturer came back that it needs '10 32 x 1/2 allen head bolts'. Not sure what "10" is? "32" is 32 threads per inch (UNF) "1/2" length = 12.7mm The best I could find M5x .8? Have no idea about the "x" though? Hope the wealth of knowledge on here will be able to give me a straight answer? Much Thanks in Advance... off topic, but does anyone else walk into the plumbing merchants and ask for two lengths of 1/2" copper?

Well I still think of timber as 2 x 2, 4 x 2, 6 x 1 etc.
Much simpler then 47 x 47 or 96 x 47 etc. Well to be honest I can not remember the exact metric sizes! Now 1/2” to 15mm and 3/4” to 22 mm copper tubing was back in late 70’s or early 80’s. Now the slight difference in size and I can not remember what we used to do to get solder joints and compression joints to work on the different sizes. Brendan |

Brendan thanks for the links Not sure why in my searches a wiki link never came up. Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
