Spring Thing
I’m looking for a bit of advice/opinion/recommendations regarding the spring set up of my 90 Puma HT.

Unladen, it sits a noticeably low at the back end. The gap from the top of the wheel to the wheel arch is around 20mm less at the back than the front on one side and 50mm less on the other side. I say “ unladen” but feel I’m probably carrying a slight rear biased load. There’s the factory tow bar and rear door mounted standard sized alloy spare wheel. I have a roof rack on and internally there’s a short MSS chest against the load bed bulkhead in which I keep my pedal lock and a smattering of tools. Surely not enough to affect the stance?

Does the back end “droop” indicate worn rear springs? If so, is it advisable to replace all 4 at the same time rather than just the rear springs? My 90 gets plenty of use as a camping vehicle and unfortunately SWMBO prefers all the modern conveniences which means I carry a hefty load when we set off on our travels. Also there are 2 bicycles which hang off a spare wheel mounted carrier too. Does this mean I should be looking at HD replacements? I appreciate this choice may compromise unladen comfort but I can live with that as I’d rather have the optimum set up for when I’m travelling with a load.

And for reasons of pure vanity, I prefer a mild “ass” up stance.

Any thoughts folks please?

You could use spring isolators in the back of a 90. However they are around 10mm thick. Or 1 inch spring spacers. Puma 110" SW

If you are happy with everything, apart from the look, just fit spring spacers. Gwyn Lewis sells a large range so you can do what you wish.

Thank you all for your input. Going to try the spacers first of all. Much cheaper than new springs - especially with Co1’s kind offer.
