I know what you mean about abbreviations!
The Jeep is apparently a JL-UL Sahara, and not a JL-UL-R. ![]() |

I know these aren't in all sizes yet, so excellent news they will be at some point next year hopefully.
Has anyone been running any yet to pass any comment on them? Still loving my KM2's but always interested dot hear about the next gen. TheThunder Rollsπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

I consider the km3 for my jeep. I had the km2 on the defender in 255/85/15 for two years and was fine with everything but snow. To ne honest, I read everything I could find about the new km3s and it all sounds like bfg paid advertisment. Today I found this article
http://www.northridgenation.com/taking-a-l...km3-tires/ In summary: 1. bfg claims 5% better mud traction, but the thead blocks of km3 are closer. hm... 2. 27% tougher sidewall, but the tire is 10lbs heavier. hm... Should I go for km2? They are cheaper now and probably the same tire. Any thoughts or real experience with km3? Defender 110 SW MY2011 2.4tdci decat, no EGR Jeep Wrangler YJ 1990 4.0. Land rover monthly did a review of the km3 in last months mag... Worth a read if you can get it..
But personally I'd go for the km2.. But I don't do alot of off roading and no rock crawling... Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Why would you buy the KM2 over the KM3?
I'm quite taken by the fact that they're offering a 7.50R16 option which is very unusual. Finally something to upgrade to from my Michelin Latitudes that stands a chance of not deafening me like the XZL or killing me like a G90. |

km2 is available in my desired size, km3 is not (yet)
km2 is cheaper km2 has more space between tread blocks => better mud cleaning km2 weights less than km3 I have not decided yet. I have to choose between km2, km3 and maxxis razr mt. What diduan said...
![]() I agree, according to the review by LRO mag, the benefit was marginal - and in my eyes not worth the price increase.. Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Good news:
I have just noticed the KM3 is now listed on the BFG site in 255/85/R16. Bad news: I haven't seen any at a UK supplier, when I've been looking. Anyone want to try finding any ![]() No concern to me, I'm not currently looking for tyres but thought I'd post as I hadn't noticed this before. So it does show at least they are being made in that size. Personally, although some won't be bothered I find it a bit of a disappointment they don't appear to be doing sidewall letting in black and white on either side. That allowed the choice, that was a good thing. There seems to be people in the States that are currently running that size now, according to searches from what I've read. Will be getting a set of 265βs soon but will go for the KM3 I think. Will be interesting to feel the difference. I found my KM2!s better than KO2βs, but it was on a different vehicle.
And am very pleased NO white writing. I not yankee doudle dandy. ![]() ![]() |

The KM2 was really good, and what I'm still using.
So the KM3 has a lot to live up to. TheThunder Rollsπ¬π§πΊπΈ β½οΈπ’οΈβοΈπ§°πͺ |

Nearly 2 years on, the new BFG still isn't a common sight in the UK.
And neither is the new Defender ![]() It's good to see they're at least making the KM3 in 255/85/16. Due to the cost of testing and EU approval legislation, particularly the noise levels, not all sizes will be imported over here. While our preferred 33" tyre for Defenders is a niche market, I'm still hopeful we'll get it. If not, 285/75/17 might be the size on my shopping list. US spec, Wrangler JL Rubicon size. |
