Im trying to twist my wife's arm for a second Defender or 90... No luck yet, and im in no rush (as I don't have the room at present.)
I want a project, something I can strip right down, and build up. I want a 1987(year I was born) LR 90....... BUT I CANT FIND ONE Did they not produce in that year? All the adverts I see - all the videos I watch, none are 1987?? Lots of 1986 or 1988, but I havnt seen any 1987!?!?! Am I missing something?? 90's were definitely produced in 1987. There's nothing particularly special about that year. Darren

They are around. Two suggestions for them being harder to find in UK. They can be exported to America where they will sell for top money. The 2.5 Turbo Diesel had issues with longevity if not well looked after and that may have caused higher numbers to be scrapped.
For the US see below as an example https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-ca.../100986582 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

AHH very good point, like I say, I have seen a fair few of 86 & 88, but not 1 single 1987..
I shall keep my eyes peeled though. Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Wow, OK I'm going back to specs avers and asking for a refund lol... Clearly I wasn't looking hard enough... Admittedly, ebay was one place I hadn't checked, never been a fan of ebay, put off by all the horror stories... With some things I'd literally rather drive 4 hours to look at it infront of me than order off the Internet.. Thanks bud, appreciate the eyes 👀 out n about 😉 Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Indeed, my birth year. I don't know what makes it so 'special' But also the fact that I hadn't seen one until today(thanks again oneten110) But deffo looking for a resto project.. My wife and I are hoping to move in a couple of years, and I'm egging for more land and garage space. I'm hoping we will find a cheaper house that we can pay off or have only a small mortgage. With the land I'm hoping to run kennels (and have some more time on my hands to play with big boy toys 😁) Regards Adam Loving The Duchess The Defender 110 TD5 XS My Defender story - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic64005.html |

Dependent upon distance I cannot see why any genuine vendor on eBay would deny you the opportunity to view the vehicle.
I was very interested in a 2a lightweight some while ago. The pics on eBay made it look wonderful, the price was a bit low for such a pristine example but the alarm bells started ringing when the vendor couldn't/wouldn't provide more photos, wouldn't agree to me looking at the vehicle, saying that it was being kept in a friend's garage and he couldn't get there to show it to me, etc etc etc ad nauseam. According to the AA route planner, the vehicle in Church Stretton is 2.5 hours from you, whilst the vehicle in Bacup is 3.5 hours |

not sure if there was a misunderstanding in terms of the 'seen'
I literally hadn't seen any for sale, not that they wouldn't let me see them... or have I read it wrong lol. And in terms of the S3, id of been running, mad they wouldnt provide any pics.... Ebay is fine of you treat it like any other classified ad. I would never buy unseen but nor would you if a garage was advertising it would you?
