Interesting, mine doesn't look much worse and that's with a DIY wax oil about 6years ago and heavy offroading and at least 60k in between and washed about twice... OK I've had a new rear cross member built but it didn't look too bad, but rusted inside out.
Guess they built things better in 1994... Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

When I had my defender waxoyl'd they, wire brushed any surface rust, air pressure blew out the inside of the chassis, and pressure washed the entire underneath on day 1, the next day they waxoyl'd everywhere, and I was able to collect it after work... Regards

Just picked up the TDCi after Dinitrol rust treatment, took a week, just waiting for the photographic record of each stage of the treatment from the garage took a few of my own not very good pics

@Tegner.
If that last photo is the after, I'd be concerned about why it looks like they just blasted over all the rust bubbles on the rear xmember, rather than hitting them with a wire wheel. |

yes the only part I was unhappy about couldn't leave it any longer, so they will put it right over the next week or so .
these were the only people who quoted the right number of days to carry out the treatment, other people were saying 2 days |

I was fortunate I got a cancellation they don't do any treatments over the winter because of drying times |

The rear cross member and towbar bracket is letting that down a lot?
Why have they just sprayed over these bits. With the cross member and towbar sanded down and sprayed again it would look 10 times better. Bit of a rushed job, would have been better if they did nothing on those bits and you could sort. Easy enough to do. |

The quote to have the Defender from a Friday to Friday so they can wash it Friday morning then let it dry out in the heated indoor valeting bay until the Monday morning then finish the pre spray preping ( including removing all chequerplate and replacing afterwards) a 2nd inspection more pre cleaning if required with airline and hand tools, full masking up then do ALL the cavities and full underbody as well as the insides of the side steps, inside of the NAS step comes to the grand total of 792.00 including VAT.
