Changed injector seals now fuel pump is noisy

Checked all the threads on noisy fuel pump... Just looking for some input on this situation. Oil level went up over the past few weeks and mileage decreased slightly. So today I changed out the injector seals (yes I ran the purge cycle a few times). Now the pump is noisy on start up and kinda whines a bit when running. I had no engine performance issues prior just the rising oil level. No performance issues after just a noisy pump. It was rather quiet before and now very loud. I found no real solution to this using the search feature and reading tons of noisy fuel oump threads. Its just kinda annoying really, and no problems other than that.

Wow! 61 views and no wisdom to share???

So today I drove 220 kms (all inside the city). On first start up it whined really loud as it has since the injector seals were changed. Stopped after 50 kms and turned it off and the next start it was super quiet just like it used to be.

The moral of the story??.

I have no idea...

though I’m glad it is back to normal. Oil change tomorrow to get the diesel out of the sump.

Your symptoms suggest that air is getting into the system when left standing for any length of time. If the injector seals are the only thing that's changed then I'd suggest looking at them again. Failing that, the fuel filter and its' housing are also common places to fail. Darren

Had not read that one. Thanks it is good general overview of many possible issues. So far it is working great though. I appreciate the feedback.
