Steel framed / timber clad lambing shed
Morning,

I’m looking for recommendations of companies who can supply and erect steel framed timber clad buildings. The lambing shed will be circa 60ft x 30ft so not massive. I’ll can get the slab done.

Based in Worcestershire.

Thanks

Just ask for prices for a shed if farming or equine gets mentioned the price rockets

Thanks chaps. My tenant lost many lambs in the poor weather last year so it is time to sort out a lambing shed. It will also be handy for tucking away the odd LR 👍

A 60 x 30 ft shed for LRs only? Some people on here would almost kill for a shed of that size.

On a more serious note check how they propose to fix the wood etc to steel framework.

Across the field from us is a agricultural steel frame, wood clad building. Been up less then 5 years and the wood slats already coming off. OK we are in a bit of an exposed place for wind but I would have not expected wood slats to come off in less then 5 years

Would suggest you talk to your neighbours with similar buildings and ask them about pros and cons

For a relatively small building, you might want to look at the lightweight high tensile steel frames, have a look at Capital Steel Buildings.

For a hot rolled frame try Robinson's Scotland (work all over).

Farmers weekly magazine has loads of cheap steel frame building companies, just beware of their health and safety, some are shocking Shocked

Might also be worth speaking with Challow Products who do timber framed buildings.

Good luck 🍀 James

I think Merrick and Powell are the people who did a neighbours barn. Galvanised structure and its been up for over a decade with no issues at all. Targeting South Wales but might be willing to do a little further afield. Ed

We do steel framed structures - if you drop me a PM with an e-mail, I’ll fire you over some real world contact details and get a bit more info...

We’d typically clad with steel cladding but happy to look at any such requirements.

There are plenty of cheap options in FW but, as said, you kinda get what you pay for...
