looking through bars
Good evening,
I drive for 4 months in a tcdi 2.4 with a heated front window. Not bothered by anything. Until I saw that there are wires running through the window. Logical.
Now I am only focused on these wires. As if I'm looking through bars.
Am I the only one who suffers from this or are there more people on the forum who suffer from it?
Regards
Mario

Not in the Defender, but I have a Ford Focus and it's bad news to concentrate on the wires in the screen!!

I am quite lucky that it is a momentary thing and I quickly refocus on what's outside than the wires. It can be a pain and maybe it's because I have had the Ford for a while, I am used to it.

I don't notice them unless I look for them my Mini has them, as did my previous L322 and X-Type and it's no worse on either vehicle.

I did read something about glasses wearers can suffer from it depending on their prescription. I wear glasses for distance, but it seems my prescription doesn't cause an issue, but everyone's prescription is different.
If you don't wear glasses and you don't get used to the bars, perhaps it's worth having an eye test.

I notice them a lot in the fog as there's nothing else for my eyes to focus on. Other than that, they sometimes 'light up' if the sun is low.

Given the average age of the 'typical' Defender owner (40+), glasses are unlikely to be an issue - we're mostly long-sighted and can't see that close!

Is it an original Land Rover screen? I had a screen replaced once with a none standard screen the wires were huge I rejected it and had it replaced with the proper screen with tiny wires. 130's have feeling's as well you know Smile
