Just wondering if I am missing something but is it possible to change the rear wiper blade on a 90 without removing the spare wheel?
I can undo the blade clip but can not slide the blade past the wiper arm as the tyre (265/75 16) is in the way and I do not want to bend/damage the arm. Cheers Don. |

I spent a considerable amount of time trying to do this without removing the wheel but had to give in in the end and do it.
I did think maybe the whole arm could be removed with out removing the wheel but I did not pursue it. 2016 Defender Landmark 90 2005 Defender CSW TD5 90XS |

Nope, you have to take the wheel off. But then again it's not exactly a big job to undo the three nuts and lift the wheel off. Chances are the back door will need a wash and polish behind there anyway.

Another argument for a swing-away wheel carrier.

Turn the wiper on then switch the ignition off when it's in the upright position

Yes, as per grafty99 suggested or, in my case, with the Mantec wheel carrier you can change the blade without take off the wheel Discovery 5 td6 HSE Stornoway Gray Outback Engineering Limited Edition ![]() IID Pro MV License |
