yeah its not running right at the moment.

all of the problems seem to be related to the fuel system.
fixing one problem only identifies a new one Big Cry

Joys of TD5 ownership!

it broke down a few months back, It would restart (Eventually) and travel about a mile before dying again
Fuel pump making a bit of a racket - so suspected it to be the issue.
New pump and filter - No Change, Eventually tracked it down to a blocked Air bleed valve on the filter head - Cleaned and refitted.

Was running pretty well for a few weeks then it started having similar issues, at motorway speeds it would start to loose power then conk out and coast to a stop, again it would restart after a running the purge cycle (depressing the throttle 5 times) and cranking for a while, plenty of white smoke and it would cough and splutter into life. I booked it in to my local independent who diagnosed a bad MAF (Replaced) and MAP (Cleaned) sensors. Ran OK for a day or two the issue reappeared.

I removed the air return valve completely and went for a test drive, again at motorway speeds it started to loose power and slow down but no misfire lifting of the throttle and reapply it would start to pull again (engine kept running) for maybe 30 seconds then repeat. (possibly overboosting or a slow vacuum leak) Also when driving around town at boost it seems there is a slight delay of maybe a second or 2 between lifting off the throttle and the engine speed decreasing, the higher the RPM the more noticeable the delay.

Trying to get it back into the garage but as always they are unable to replicate the issue.

Cheers
Kieron

are those symptoms related to oil in the ecu wiring harness? could be wrong.

I checked the red eco plug and no oil in the ECU plug and the previous owner changed the injector harness
but I will check again

not really thought about fuel quality but I don't fill up from the same garage each time, I normally use 2 or 3 locally (BP, Shell and Sainsburys) so probably unlikely that all the would have dodgy fuel.

but thanks for the tips... will try anything at the moment to get it running right!!!
