I unbolted the flap from the internal lever and sprayed release oil onto the pin from both ends while lifting the flap fully up and down for about 5 mins and then tapping the pin end with a hammer then repeating if necessary and eventually it started to move. I then grabbed the pin with some grips and worked it out. Ray

I replaced mine with S/S ones. I think the old ones were the original ones and were pretty seized/gummed up. I used plenty of wd40 and worked it in. I then gripped the bolts and wiggled them working in the wd40. Left them alone for the rest of the day then got small socket and a spanner (on the other end) and 'cracked' the nut off one end. I then gripped the pin (carefully due to the thread exposed) and 'cracked' off the other nut. Pulled the pin out and replaced the above proceedure on the other pin.
Hope this helps. (ps) remember to lubricate the new pins when you put them in and periodically lubricate them as they are exposed sitting where they are. Cheers Simon |
