It is said before on here, passing MOT it is not the same as being legal.... Cheers, Vincent

Not being completely road legal doesn't mean that anyone will do anything about it. Cripes have you not seen the Scania lorries festooned with blue LEDs.
What is the opinion on Halogen versus Standard Filament bulbs? Anything made before the 1980s was not designed for such bulbs. The Filament/LED argument isn't much different. The whole E marked thing is OK but considering the Chinese like to put E marks on stuff that doesn't have the paperwork to go with it means its a bit pointless. My sidelights have already been swapped out for some slightly brighter but while LED units. Also, the reversing light has also been moved over to a rather nice white LED. Looking to swap over the Indicators and brake bulbs once I find some that have a similar pattern/brightness to the standard bulbs. I like the look of the older lenses but I like to reduce the draw on the battery where I can as I have been caught before with lights running the battery low when I have been parked up. |

I got some LEDs from Killer90 on here a couple of years back. Still working fine, and no MOT issues yet. The colour goes perfectly with the Tucklites I bought from Brendan (they have inbuilt sidelights)... so now I have a full set of colour-matched LED front-facing sidelights
Don't have a pic of my own Defender, but a web pic of the Trucklite inbuilt sidelights here: Defender "Puma" 2.4 110 County Utility (possibly the last of the 2.4's) |
