Advice ; Wanted - Non rusting rear step /bumper
I am looking for a non rusting rear step for my 2007 90.
I have had a look at the Bowler rear step/bumper - anyone know what they are made of?

OR would I be better in finding one I like , stripping it & then electro galv it & paint or powder coat.

all suggestions welcome - I am looking for a solution & cost is secondary ( well almost)

Guy May your life be like toilet paper ; long & useful.

i have a genuine LR OEM NAS step, 7 years old, dinitrolled from new and no rust, but when it does begin, I will strip, galv and powder coat.

I have heard reports of the Bowler steps rusting within a year, but not personal experience.

Whitbread do a similar galvanised version http://www.whitbread-offroad.co.uk/news_offers_view.php?id=70 James

Scotland 2016 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 Adventure Phoenix Orange
For Mrs Doublea's Adventure I bought the standard version from Paddocks and had it powder coated locally. It was probably overkill, but i was having other parts done anyway.

I reckon they rust from the inside and if properly dinitrolled internally they will last long enough.

For our latest addition to the defender fleet, I've bought the Masai version. It's said to be galvanised but i believe it's just zinc plated and powder coated. I'll be dinitrolling it in any case! £360+ carriage as opposed to c.£300 for the Paddock's version. Current Steeds:

2000 Elise
1992 Ducati 888 (no longer in bits, yahoo)
1990 TDR 250 (in bits again)
1988 TDR 250 (no longer in bits) and for sale
