"They all do that Sir".
It's the EGR self clean. If you search the forum for Chucka noise youll find more information than you ever dreamed ![]() Last edited by Bluest on 10th Mar 2017 11:25pm. Edited 1 time in total |

Probably the EGR valve. Was it a sort of chukka-chukka-chukka noise?
If so it is fairly normal, a feature rather than a bug. It is when it stops doing it that you'll need a new EGR valve. |

It's usually the first question asked by someone new to the Puma-engined Defender! You aren't the first to ask.
Your nexr question will come when you look underneath and think there's a mounting missing between the gearbox crossmember and gearbox. There isn't, they're all like that! Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the tempestuous world of Puma Defender ownership. ![]() |

Blackwolf, and everyone who answered my very basic question thanks very much, my next thing to try is low and high when I find a quiet road, I understand you don't drive it in low on normal roads, due to wind up? I cant believe the wealth of knowledge on this forum, its brilliant, and am so pleased I got my defender, I actually look forward to getting in it

You can drive it in low on tarmac, but not with difflock. The two things are independent. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
