Condescend on the under side roof metal work runs down on to the head liner and out in side and down window as the spring are long in the driver side you see it on passenger seat
had same problem in my pick up cold weather i.e. -7 c at night and day time + 7 c removed head lining 1/2 pint of water later dry it off 2m of 7mm foil back self adhesive thermo acoustic closed cell foam and head lining sag fix  |

Here are the pics - my roof is that suedy material, and it doesn't feel cold or wet so not sure it's that? I was thinking is it running down a crack in the window and through the actual door inside?

You can see on the top pic when I've taken the carpets out over night... there's zero rain in the footwell, but there is rain / water on the carpet at the base of the seat. The footwell was completely dry, yet the carpet at the bottom of the seat looks to be where the water is first hitting?

First check that the drain holes in bottom of door are not blocked.
If clear then you are probably going to have to take the door card off and check that the vapour barrier is there, and not split. The window seals are generally apretty poor fit. |

That makes a lot of sense... I had the Defender rust proofed and they sprayed Waxoyl in the doors I remember (or whatever the appropriate thing was if not that). I recon that's probably covered the drainage hole and hence why it's leaking in.
Do you have a picture of what the drainage hole will look like, so I can investigate and clear myself? What's the best thing to clear it, pipe cleaners? |

Have not mastered photos yet on the forum.
Not difficult to find though. Three holes just behind bottom seal, front middle and back if I recall correctly. I used a pencil to clear mine. However, the problem may still be the vapour barrier if the rust proofers removed the door card to spray and then did not reseal the barrier. Start with the simple and check the holes first. If you search on this site for 'waterproof defender doors' you will find a useful discussion. |

The doors are designed to let water in, I've had lots of issue with my first tdci, with water coming through the doors. Behind the door card is a barrier that is designed to keep the water inside the door and direct it downwards. The bottom of the door has a few drain holes to allow the water out. 1954 86" - makes any green lane seem as long as the trans american high way
