injectors
Hi all
Can the td5 injectors be repaired? Looks like one of mine was damaged when the indy did the copper washers and seals.

if you can get the parts ! may be easier to replace the injector, but get it tested to start with

reg age of your td5 ?

2003. 90. Was lovely before the indy got hold of it. Been back to him twice now and still not right. Lack of power and rattling its nuts off.charged me £250. He showed me the values of the injectors on his computer when plugged in and number 1 was rising to 7 when revving, the others were around 2 and 3.
I now have to go else where to get it sorted. Who can you trust these days!!!!!

I sadly did not have a great experience with rebuilt td5 injectors. I'd recommended trying to get hold of genuine landrover recon units if you can. I bought mine through britcar.

Those figures are I am assuming the cylinder balance values?

The cylinder balancing program is intended to diagnose individual cylinder outputs / efficiency at idle only. The range is + or - 15 before it will log an error, such as a misfire due to oil in the harness etc, readings above idle speed are inconsequential.

I would suggest getting a second opinion... 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto.

Thanks guys. Can I buy any green top injectors or do they have to be specific to my landy?

The engine will run without programming of a new injector but it should be done at some stage.

I would suggest investigating (the possible cause) further before buying an injector. 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto.

And also, predictably number 1 is showing strange results... It's always number 1....

I believe the reason for this is that when changing injector seals people remove number 1 first which dumps all fuel from the head drillings / fuel galleries into cylinder 1.

They then put it back together and it bends the rod in number 1 when they start it.

I have seen heaps of slightly bend rods in cylinder 1 over the years. 2001 90 HT 6.0LS/6spdAuto.
