Advice required on wash wipe switch
Can this be fixed?

My delightful son has been "playing" in my car just now. We are meant to be going camping tomorrow!!

It is the wash switch wire that has pulled out I think. When I put it back together and push the stalk in the washer is on permanently (presume it is switching to earth through the body of the stalk unit).

Any emergency advice this afternoon would be much appreciated

Now I've calmed down and the red mist has cleared, it was an easy fix. I realised the bare wire is just an earth for the stalk and it was the actual button on the end that had stuck down is I was trying to push it into the splined hole.

Thanks anyway. It's nice to be able to call on the forum in times of need

I had the same thing with my daughter (4) - it was a relief when I realised it just pushes back in Smile

You're lucky the plastic receptacle didn't crack.

That's not so fun... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants...

I had the little earth wire break on mine so I had no washers.
I had to pull the lever out to refit the wire.
There is not a lot of length on the switch wire, I see your looks intact.
Good to hear it's fixed, enjoy the trip. Cheers,
Kyle.
