2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Stornoway Grey
Like promised, some proper photos on a clean car

(excuse the lack of mudflaps re installing my bowler ones tomorrow Shocked )

the more i use these handles the more they feel like a prototype, still in need of refinement.

I think they look good. Thumbs Up The inside part of the handle looks like it is smooth, which is a move in the right direction. A great improvement over the original LR plastic ones. Generally, black plastic turns grey and porous with time, as the pigment gets bleached out of the material. Powder coated aluminium will stay shiny. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

Yes RD, the mirror arms and the sliding window latches on my four year old Defender are a sore sight.
They are zinc die castings. Cheap to manufacture in quantities, but always slightly porous. Less corrosions resistant than milled billet aluminium parts, which are always expensive to manufacture, even in numbers.

Then there is the coating quality....

Powder coated billet aluminium mirror arms, latches, and possibly a windscreen frame would be nice. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

Surely the Optimill Handles are anodised rather than powder coated?

I just looked at their website, and apparently, they are Embarassed. 1978 Thumbs Up

Not quite as corrosion resistant as powder coating, but still a whole lot better than the stock parts. 1998 Tdi 90 SW,

Crazy money for bloody door handles Evil or Very Mad They dont even look nice. I'll stick with the LR plastic jobbies until something nicer comes along.

They look a bit better but I didn't see the price. Probably just as well. Rolling Eyes Would anyone really notice the difference though? ....

^ Many mods no one would know...

Vents at the side can range from Ģ30 to Ģ90, top vents Ģ40 to Ģ160 not 'that' much different to look at but its your choice which you choose. Plastic std all the way to billet alloy.

I like the idea of the handles but agree the croytec ones... prefer the oem button

Price cannot be much different surely... 2 handles Ģ300 how much more can they charge Shocked
